Car Sharing Comes to Knoxville

The Knoxville-Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) is soliciting proposals from firms, joint ventures and/or partnerships to implement and operate a car sharing program. Proposals are due Sept. 29, 2011 at 2 p.m.

With car sharing, people can rent cars for short periods of time. They are attractive to customers who make only occasional use of a vehicle, as well as others who would like occasional access to a vehicle of a different type than they use day-to-day.
