Kudos to Community Commuters

January Smart Trips Winners Announced:

Knoxville Smart Trips announces its most recent monthly winners. Bob Weatherstone with the City of Knoxville, Jayne McNutt of TVA, and David Goforth with the University of Tennessee will each receive $50 gift cards to Bliss, Mast General Store and Three Rivers Market respectively. David Waddell will receive a gift basket from Mast General Store valued at $50.

Smart Trips January Commuter of the Month is Ann Strange of ORNL who will receive a $25 gift card to Mast General Store. Her nominator says, Ann is a great person who has enriched my life and decreased my carbon footprint. Strange gives up 15 minutes of extra sleep each workday to keep the carpool going and constantly looks for ways to encourage carpooling at ORNL.

Smart Trips is a regional program which promotes greener alternatives to driving alone such as carpooling, biking, walking, teleworking and taking the bus. It s a comprehensive effort that rewards commuters for taking these alternatives and helps businesses implement the program at their location.
